Indaba 2015

Once again the Moja Media team showcased their brands at the annual South African Tourism Indaba – this was our 12th Indaba as a company.

One of our trademarks is our big, bold stand, which draws visitors’ attention and creates an excellent talking point for networking. This year, our stand focussed largely on Portfolio – a symbol of how we have been bringing Orange Collection and Moja Heritage into the Portfolio fold over the past few months.

Our stand was 27sqm and backed by an enormous blue banner resembling the sleek new design of the Portfolio guidebook cover. The new look was much admired by Portfolio clients and visitors alike.

As in previous years, we welcomed some members to share our stand. This year’s sharing exhibitors included Ghost Mountain Inn, Amakhosi Safari Lodge, Leopard Mountain Game Lodge, Schulphoek Seafront Guesthouse, Whale View Manor, Pakamisa Private Game Reserve, Highgrove House Country Hotel and Glen Avon Lodge.

The evening of the first day saw our now eagerly awaited champagne reception with our ‘hottie’ barman, Warwick, who was body painted in white with the new Portfolio logo. This is always a fun drawcard as ladies and men alike queued up for photos with him. Our members, potential members and key partners all attended for some much needed refreshment, giving us the perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends and secure meetings with new. Groot Constantia kindly sponsored the bubbles for the thirsty crowd.

We announced our expansion into new countries and our focus for 2015 in Indaba Daily News, making page 2 of the second edition, alongside a fantastic photo of our refreshed branding.

Each year we push ourselves more to bring innovation and excellence to our Indaba presence and it certainly pays off!

Ian (CEO): “While the industry at large seems to be wavering about the future of Indaba, this year’s show was a fantastic success for us. Our team and our 8 members were busy throughout with appointments, making the most of the networking opportunities. I was especially happy with the reception we had around Portfolio’s new look, and our function was a great opportunity for members to network with each other and with key players in the industry.”

Lauren (Marketing): "It felt like Portfolio made a real splash this year, both in terms of our new look and our strategy for the coming year. I love that we have talking points like our drinks reception and our eye catching stand, which are easily recognisable and are fast becoming something of an institution at the show.”
